Another significant benefit of GRP water tanks is their insulation properties. The structure of GRP helps in maintaining a stable water temperature, which is essential in preventing algae growth and ensuring the water remains clean and safe for consumption. This aspect is especially beneficial for agricultural applications, where irrigation systems require controlled water temperatures to promote healthy crop growth.

- Lithopone, a zinc sulfide-based white pigment, has been used for over a century due to its excellent hiding power, low cost, and environmental friendliness. However, concerns about its potential toxicity have led to a gradual decline in its use. In contrast, titanium dioxide (TiO2) has emerged as a popular alternative due to its superior whiteness, high refractive index, and strong UV protection properties.
- The domain of cosmetics also owes much to this oxide. In sunscreens, titanium dioxide acts as a physical barrier, deflecting the sun's harmful ultraviolet rays. Unlike some other UV-blocking ingredients, TiO2 is non-irritating and well-tolerated by various skin types, making it a staple ingredient in skincare products designed for sensitive or reactive complexions.

One of the key advantages of using anatase titanium dioxide in coatings is its superior UV resistance. This makes it ideal for outdoor applications where coatings are exposed to sunlight and other environmental factors that can degrade the finish over time. Anatase titanium dioxide helps to protect the underlying surface from UV rays, preventing fading and deterioration.
- As the demand for titanium dioxide continues to grow, so does the competition among suppliers. Companies that can produce high-quality rutile and anatase titanium dioxide at competitive prices will likely gain a significant advantage in the market. Additionally, the development of new technologies for producing titanium dioxide, such as using biomass as a raw material or implementing more sustainable production methods, could further differentiate suppliers and drive innovation in the industry.

We've used titanium dioxide safely for decades. However, recently its safety was called into question.
At CRIS, we've explored the safety of titanium dioxide for nearly half a decade, including conducting double-blind research to test the safety of food-grade titanium dioxide (E171). Our study shows that when exposed to food-grade titanium dioxide in normal conditions, research animals did not experience adverse health outcomes.
It's important to emphasize that in a National Institutes of Health study, experimental animals were exposed to titanium dioxide in amounts as high as 5% of their diet for a lifetime and showed no evidence of adverse effects.
A handful of studies greatly influenced the decisions made by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). Unfortunately, these studies did not consider that titanium dioxide exposure comes from food, not drinking water. Additionally, CRIS researchers could not reproduce the adverse outcomes identified by the studies through typical food ingestion. Regardless, the EFSA banned E171 as a food ingredient and for use in other capacities in the summer of 2022.
In 2022, the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada maintained that the scientific evidence supports that titanium dioxide (E171) is safe for humans to use and consume. -

- Look for the MADE SAFE seal on products, which means they’re made without unsafe titanium dioxide and other ingredients linked to human health and ecosystem harm.
- Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is a white pigment that is commonly used in various applications, including food products. It is widely used in the food industry as a coloring agent, as it provides a bright white color to products such as candies, icing, and chewing gum. In addition to its use as a coloring agent, titanium dioxide is also used as a thickening agent in some food products.
- Anatase B101 titanium dioxide is particularly valued for its high photocatalytic activity, which makes it an ideal candidate for uses in air purification, water treatment, and self-cleaning surfaces. Its nanoparticle size and high surface area contribute to its efficiency in these processes. Moreover, anatase B101 exhibits excellent light stability and transparency to visible light, enhancing its suitability for photovoltaic applications and as a pigment.

What titanium dioxide is really emblematic of ... is the failure of FDA to look back at these old decisions and ask whether its decisions that were made in this case ... 56 years ago (in the 1966 approval) still hold up, he said.
- Rutile titanium dioxide, also known as TiO2, is a widely used pigment in various industries including paints, coatings, plastics, and cosmetics. As a key ingredient in many everyday products, it is important to source this material from a reliable and reputable supplier to ensure high quality and consistent performance.

1 According to the EFSA's Expert Panel on Food Additives and Flavorings 2021 opinion regarding titanium dioxide, it could not rule out a concern for genotoxicity from ingestion of the material based on a perceived gap in data on this risk, which serves as the basis for current ban, said a March report on the decision.
The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has listed titanium dioxide as a Group 2B carcinogen — an agent that may be carcinogenic but lacks sufficient animal and human research. This has caused concern for its safety in food products (11, 12).
- Another important application of titanium oxide is in the manufacturing of sunscreen and other skincare products. Titanium oxide is a key ingredient in many sunscreens because of its ability to block harmful UV rays. It is also used in skincare products to provide a smooth, matte finish and to help reduce redness and irritation.
In some studies, E171 was given to animals in drinking water without the stabilizers that keep E171 suspended in the liquid. Without stabilizers, E171 can settle and prevent the ingredient from combining with surrounding ingredients.
According to the feedback of manufacturers, the new orders of mainstream factories maintain stable prices, and the new volume of the market after the holiday is limited. On the demand side, the terminal basically has batch replenishment before the festival, and the purchase intention of new orders is low; On the supply side, mainstream manufacturers normally produce and deliver goods, and the actual output of the industry is stable. Most factories quote a new price of 17,000 yuan/ton or more market negotiation range reference 16000-17200 yuan/ton, plastics and papermaking related downstream feedback part of the tight model price is higher. Recent titanium dioxide raw material prices are strong, titanium dioxide price support is more stable, comprehensive market factors, the current titanium dioxide market to maintain a stable price.

- At the heart of the factory lies a state-of-the-art production line that employs advanced chemical processes to extract titanium dioxide of unparalleled purity. This process is meticulously monitored and controlled to ensure consistent quality, setting a new benchmark for the industry. Moreover, the plant’s design emphasizes energy efficiency, utilizing renewable sources where possible and minimizing waste through innovative recycling systems.
- Another important consideration for manufacturers is the production process itself. The manufacturing process for titanium dioxide products can be complex and requires careful attention to detail
products with titanium dioxide manufacturers. Manufacturers must employ state-of-the-art technology and equipment to ensure that their products are produced efficiently and effectively. Additionally, manufacturers must also consider the environmental impact of their production processes and strive to minimize their carbon footprint.Lithopone 28%~30% Factory Good Service and High Quality White Power
Some consumer advocacy groups and health agencies — particularly, those at the Environmental Working Group — have been pushing federal officers at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to reconsider their existing rules on the additive, which is commonly found in processed snacks and sweets.
Most notably, a European Food Safety Authority safety assessment published in May 2021 pointed to genotoxicity concerns, as suggested by previous research. Genotoxicity is the ability of chemicals to damage genetic information such as DNA, which may lead to cancer.
Titanium dioxide is a naturally-occurring mineral found in the earth’s crust. Because of its white color, opaqueness, and ability to refract light, the ingredient is often used as a pigment, brightener, and opacifier, which is an ingredient that makes a formulation more opaque. Titanium dioxide is also a UV filter and so is an effective active ingredient in sunscreens. It’s often used in cosmetic loose and pressed powders, especially “mineral powder” cosmetics, in addition to other cosmetics, lotions, toothpaste, and soap.
